Current Chapter Information
Every school that has a World Literacy of Canada Chapter is different and unique, with the flexibility to choose the activities, fundraisers and themes that are important to its members. Each chapter is also run out of a different club or union on campus - if you're interested in joining a current chapter or starting your own email the Chapter Presidents below, or send an e-mail to info@worldlit.ca to find out how you can start your own World Literacy of Canada Chapter and join others across the country in exploring literacy, education and issues related to international development.

If you would like some help getting your chapter off the ground, please get in touch with our University/College Liaison Christina Sgro. Christina is the Co-President of the York University chapter and is currently completing a Master of Environmental Studies degree. She is also working towards earning her certification as a Registered Provincial Planner in the province of Ontario. She has been recognized by the Government of Ontario for her numerous volunteer efforts. These include working for the Red Cross and Dignitas International chapters at her school as Vice-President and President, respectively. Within these capacities, she has led teams of students to making a real difference in developing nations that are currently dealing with poverty, war, and deadly diseases. She is also currently the founder and president of Pencils of Kids at York University, a charitable organization which strives to lift children from poverty through education. P4K at York, as it is called, is currently doing extensive work in West Africa and hopes to continue forging special connections with communities in developing nations across the world.
