Caitlin Shum's Story
“Hmm, I wonder what’s in that village,” Cruse said to Kiko, his pet monkey. “Let’s go explore!” said Cruse. “Isn’t that what we always do, explore?” replied Kiko. Cruse nodded his head as he prepared their survival bags.
As Cruse and Kiko walked to the village, they spotted a sign. There were three words written on the sign, “Egalliv Fo Sneila”. The village looked like a ghost town.
Suddenly, a green thing appeared in front of a store called “Koob Erots”. “That looks like an alien so this must be an alien village,” whispered Cruse. “Bingo!” said Kiko. There were other stores with signs like “S’dik Syot” and “Stnalp”. Cruse and Kiko were frustrated that they could not understand the signs. As they continued to walk through the village they saw more aliens.
Cruse took out a mirror to check if any aliens were following them. Kiko looked over Cruse’s shoulder to glance at the mirror. “Hey! Look at the names of the stores in the mirror,” exclaimed Kiko. “The names are English words spelled backwards,” continued the monkey. The store name “Stnalp” became “plants” in the mirror. Cruse cried out, “Kiko, you figured out the Alien language!”
“Cruse and Kiko walked into a shop called the Rats Srexif”. Kiko explained to the store owners, in Alien language, that their ship crashed and they needed help to fix it. The aliens happily nodded in agreement. They were impressed that
Cruse and Kiko were using their language.
So, for two days, the aliens helped repair the airship. When the craft was repaired, Kiko said, “thank you kind aliens, we respect you for who you are. Please, come and visit us.”
Soon, Matt Cruse, the space captain, and Kiko, the monkey, set off for earth.
