Canadian Programs

In Canada, WLC works to increase public awareness about the importance of literacy and its role in fighting poverty by engaging Canadian youth in initiatives that foster global citizenship. WLC encourages Canadians to:

            Learn about literacy and international development;

            Care about the global consequences of one’s actions;

            Act to bring about positive change.

At the school or community level, WLC oversees various projects to improve reading, writing, and oral language skills; as well as encourage family literacy, community engagement and awareness.
