Enika Fontanilla's Story

"Matt’s Journey to Farfarawaylandia"

Matt cautiously walked around hoping a giant three-headed beast wouldn’t frighten him with a great roar. Instead of a three-headed beast, about six sprites gathered around him in a circle. “Who are these ugly winged creatures?” Matt wondered. All the sprites had warts on their faces, hair sticking out of their heads like they were struck by lightning and big worn-out wings. “Well maybe they could help me fix my ship so I will be ok with them,” thought Matt.

“Where am I?” Matt asked awkwardly.

“Farfarawaylandia, where there are many sparkly seas, and extraordinary houses that belong to the caring sprites,” they bragged.

“How do I get home?” Matt cried.

“We will tell you later, after we feed you lunch,” the sprite demanded.

All of the sprites flew him to the main sprite’s house. The sprites made fine dishes and had incredible cooking skills.

“Now for your ship!” A sprite declared.

The sprites curiously looked at his ship and finally whispered, “Once you find a cloud of smoke you will find your way back home, but most importantly, your ship will be fixed.”

Then they all hurriedly skipped off. He thought about what the sprites had said and with that he started walking. Matt was about to give up when, POOF! A big cloud of smoke appeared before him. He coughed heavily, and finally the smoke disappeared. Matt looked down, and in the sun a golden key glimmered strongly. He picked up the key and as he turned it, a portal opened in the air. He jumped into the air portal and before he knew it he was back home, with the airship looking as good as new. At that moment he realized the ugly sprites helped him find his way back home, and course they made him a great lunch, or so he thought.

“They are ugly on the outside, but they sure are pretty on the inside.” Matt chuckled.
