Kumiko Randle's Story
Matt walked and walked, but didn’t seem to be getting any closer to the village. It was blazing hot under the twin suns and Matt was exhausted. Surrounding him was land unsuitable for life, yet blue string like plants grew. It became dark soon and Matt sat down to rest. He was half way asleep, when a pale, violet eyed creature approached him. It had tiny pointed ears and golden hair that seemed to blow when there wasn’t a slight breeze.
“Hello,” the creature said in a hushed tone, “I’m really not supposed to talk to you, but you seem like an unusual creature”
“Creature?!? I’m no creature, I’m human!” Matt exclaimed.
“Oh, well I’ve never seen a human before. How did you get here?”
“My ship crashed; do you think you can fix it?”
“I don’t really know much about your…ship, but I can ask my parents. C’mon!”
Matt followed the creature to her village and into her home.
“By the way, my name is Kaya, I am a halloray, and you are…?”
“Matt, Matt Cruse”
Just then Kaya’s parents walked into the room. They didn’t seem to appreciate Matt’s appearance in their home.
“Who is this in our home Kaya?!? Get this creature out, now, now, now!”
“Its okay mom, je just needs help fixing his…ship”
“I don’t care what he needs; just get him away from us!”
“Please, please can you help me? I need to get home to my family and all my friends. Please?” Matt pleaded.
“Family? Since when do you have…family? Tell you what, if you can tell us more about this…family; we can agree to help you. We want to know what families on our planet are like.
And so, Matt told Kaya and her parents all about life on earth and even learned a bit about their planet. As well as getting his ship fixed.
