Laura Jean Knott's Story
"A Crash, a Village, and Help"
Matt tried to pry open the door to the ship but it wouldn’t budge. He walked around to the other side of the ship and climbed to the roof. He opened the sunroof and jumped inside. The inside of the ship was destroyed. All his books were on the floor and food was spilled. Matt gazed into the broken mirror, and his golden unruly hair was damp with sweat, and he had a large cut under his left eye.
He couldn’t find his tools. He climbed out of the roof and turned to the city. He had to go there and ask for help. He wandered up to the gates and opened them, bright lights made him dizzy. Matt found the streets almost deserted. He walked up to a man sitting down. “Excuse me could you tell me where I could get help to repair my ship, it crashed about an hour ago outside the gates.”
The man looked and replied, “Go away.” Matt turned away.
“I don’t think I’ll get any help from him.” Matt saw before him “CTIY HLAL.” “Maybe I’ll find some help there,” he said. He went inside, a judge stood before him.
“Whaths yur prupsoe?”
Matt sighed, “Great no one here speaks English.” Matt started to sob from the thought of never getting home. The judge looked at him with a sad face.
“Whath’s wron boy.” Then Matt saw that he didn’t speak another language he just had an accent. “Well my ship crashed and I need help to repair it.”
“Welk why dnid’t you say so” “We’ll have it fexed in no time.”
Ten days later the ship was finally fixed. Gratefully, Matt thanked the people jumped in and darted into the sky.
