 “Matt Cruse’s Extraordinary Journey”

Matt decided to leave the ship and meet the people in the small village. He walked to the village where he found something extraordinary. Everywhere he looked there were floating robot aliens! Much like humans, they looked similar but had differences so you could tell them apart. They all had the upper body of a robot, partially made of metal and chrome. Each robot had some type of voice box in their chest that translated other languages. They had no legs and their torsos floated in mid-air. Matt could see two differences in each of the robot aliens. Each was a different colour! He had never seen so many new colours! The other difference was that instead of eyes, each robot alien had a small template where their eyes should be that was in different shapes, for example, one was square, one was rectangular, and one was in the shape of a boomerang. Matt had never seen so many shapes in so many different sizes.

Matt noticed a particular alien that was standing next to what looked like a broken spaceship. Matt decided to be brave and try to communicate with this alien in the hope of getting help home. Sadly, the alien turned him down and angrily told him to leave before the other aliens disintegrated him.

Matt was surprised and hurt by what the alien said. He walked away in fear and started to cry. He didn’t know what else to do.
Even though Matt looked so different, the alien felt sorry for him and said, “Even if you are different, I’m going to help you. At those words, Matt felt relieved and confused by what the alien had said. He saw the aliens as being different, not himself.

The alien had noticed what was wrong with the ship and was able to fix it. Matt thanked the alien and started his journey home.

Matt realized that the aliens showed tolerance and acceptance of him, when he expected that it was him that would be tolerant and accepting of the aliens. What an extraordinary journey!
